Jamie and Sam’s elopement day in the Columbia River Gorge was the kind of day you’d want to bottle up and keep forever. It wasn’t just about the stunning views or the cool spots they hit – it was about them, taking a day to celebrate their love in a way that felt right.
Getting Ready for the Elopement at the AirBnB
The day kicked off in a laid-back style at an Airbnb that was all kinds of cute. It was one of those places where you could kick back, relax, and forget about the world for a while. They spent the morning there, just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.
Picture them lounging around, coffee in hand, no rush, no fuss – just soaking in the quiet moments before the big adventure… well, you don’t really have to picture it, do you? I’ve got the photos of these sweet moments.
Latourell Falls Adventure Elopement
Then it was time to hit the road. First stop? Latourell Falls. A classic hike for this Columbia River Gorge Elopement.
Let me tell you, the Gorge was showing off with its fall colors. It was like walking through a sea of gold with all those Big Leaf Maple trees.
The falls themselves were (as usual) a sight to behold, adding a touch of dramatic flair to their day.
Vows at Government Cove – The Perfect Intimate Moment
But the highlight of this Oregon Elopement? That had to be Government Cove— where Jamie & Sam sealed the deal.
An elopement is rarely complete without a sentimental, intimate exchange of vows. Jamie and Sam upped the ante by also reading some very beautiful and emotional poetry by Mary Oliver.
Government Cove is a real gem – a bit off the beaten path, wrapped in the kind of natural beauty that makes you stop and say, “Wow.” It is not officially a park, but rather land owned by the Watlala people. So if you choose to visit, please make sure you’re being respectful of the land.
After the vows & poetry, Jamie & Sam just took the time to be together. The area was filled with rocks, trees, and these cool mossy areas that looked like something out of a storybook.
Why Elope in the Columbia River Gorge?
The thing about eloping in the Columbia River Gorge is that it’s more than just a pretty place to get married. The Gorge has this wild, untamed beauty that’s hard to find anywhere else. It’s a place where you can feel small against the vast backdrop of nature, yet so connected to each other.
And the climate? It’s as varied as the landscape – one minute you’re basking in sunshine, and the next, you’re wrapped in a cool mist. It keeps you on your toes and makes for some epic photos.
Slowing Down for Your Elopement Day
Speaking of photos, let’s talk about slowing down. Jamie and Sam’s day wasn’t a rush to get from one photo spot to the next. It was about taking it slow, being present, and really soaking in every moment.
There’s something special about taking the time to just be, especially on a day as important as your elopement. It lets you appreciate the little things – the way the light filters through the trees, the sound of the river in the background, the feel of your partner’s hand in yours.
