Nicole & Christian – Stunning elopement in the Redwoods and Southern Oregon Coast
Brookings, Oregon is a favorite of mine, for Oregon elopements. Not just because it has some of the most stunning beach landscapes along the Oregon Coast, but because of its proximity to the redwoods of Northern California.
I am biased, because I grew up amongst these beautiful giants, but I think an elopement in the redwoods is one of the more epic choices you can make for a wedding ceremony.
There is something so grounding, centering and symbolic about exchanging vows surrounded by some of the tallest, oldest plants in the world. You simply cannot help but be humbled and awestruck by the redwood forest. It is a perfect choice for adventurous, nature-loving folks like Nicole and Christian.
Nicole and Christian are the sweetest couple. They met in high school and moved across the country together to North Carolina. They’ve been traveling around the world ever since.
An adventure elopement splitting time between the amazing redwoods and the Oregon Coast was a perfect choice for them.
Getting Ready at the AirBnb
Nicole and Christian’s elopement started at their AirBnb. A little cabin, tucked away in the redwoods.
Before changing into their wedding attire, they took time to spend together, hanging out in the forest and taking time to write their vows together.
Instead of opting for a first look, they decided to spend the morning getting ready together and helping each other with the final touches.
Elopement Ceremony in the Redwoods
The Redwoods National and State Parks have tons of options for exploration, but limited places where you can actually have a ceremony. This, combined with the fact that florals are not allowed within the park, led Nicole and Christian decided to do their main vow exchange in the forest by the AirBnb… they had that gorgeous floral arrangement to use for their ceremony.
Exploring Redwoods National & State Parks
After saying their vows, we hopped in the car and scooched over to the Redwoods National & State Parks. Specifically, we went to explore around the iconic Stout Memorial Grove.
Where giants 12 feet across shoot straight up from the roadsides. Where the ancient magic of these forests smack you across the face, in the most loving way possible.
Sunset Elopement Celebration at the Beach
Taking a break in the middle of the day is one of the best things about elopements– you can tailor them to EXACTLY what you want your day to look like.
The Premium Elopement Package that I offer is perfect for that. The 8 hours can be split into chunks so that we can catch the most beautiful times of day. A sunrise/sunset day… or a slow morning cooking brunch, then an evening time picnic… the world is your oyster.
We headed to my favorite beach in Southern Oregon – perhaps along the entire Oregon Coast – Ariya’s Beach. Just South of the mouth of the Pistol River, the beach and surf zones are dotted with an intricate maze of sea stacks.
The landscape here is not only stunning. It is FUN to explore. At golden hour, the lighting is dynamic and rich. Weaving in and out of the big ass rocks, finding beautiful, misty rays of light.
Nicole and Christian had so much fun running, playing and exploring this amazing beach near Brookings, Oregon. That is exactly what I love about this spot for an adventure elopement.
